By day, Brighter Days serves as a shelter and halfway house for the abused and homeless. There is a soup kitchen, a small residence, and educational and recreational facilities for all ages. It used to be one of the most violent shelters in the city before it was taken over about ten years ago by the Harris Foundation.
This, however, is all a front for the true purpose of the facilities: it acts as a welcome and aid center for Kindred new to the city. No questions asked about sect, loyalties, or clan, but most who come here end up in the Anarch Free State, in which Brighter Days is centrally located. It serves as a neutral ground for all of Brooklyn, and anyone who causes trouble here will soon find the combined wrath of the gangs of the Free State upon them.
Though there are several volunteers here, Mark and Elizabeth Harris make their domain here with their adopted daughter Shiho. They are easily accessible, and someone will be happy to help. One can often find other Anarchs here as well, as the recreation area operates as a Kindred-only club.
Housing, information on the city, introductions, and even some blood bags for the desperate can be found here.
